Job description

Our client on the outskirts of Cardiff; a world-class scientific facility, are looking for an experienced Laboratory Analyst to join them on a permanent basis.

Our client are seeking an experienced Lab professional with strong experience of working in a commercial lab environment.

You will ideally have a broad range of experience in laboratory instrumentation and analysis techniques (HPLC, GC, ICP, UV-vis, q-PCR, ELISA) plus good familiarity of titrimetry, gravimetry, and wet chemistry.

Salary & Benefits:

Our client are offering a permanent role with a salary of between 25-30k depending on experience, plus full company benefits including: 26 days holiday + bank, workplace pension, wellness programmes and employee support, free on-site parking, genuine opportunities to progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse results and report findings and appropriate technical advice.
  • Undertake investigative analysis to provide adequate evidential support.
  • Support the development of analytical methods and provide an assessment of their suitability for use in the Lab.
  • Participate in a range of trials, surveys, and performance assessments.
  • Advise on relevant analytical, equipment and systems developments.
  • Sample preparation and analytical work on a range of sample types including private client samples and those likely to result in legal proceedings.
  • Produce analytical results and enter into the LIMS for reporting.

Skills & Attributes:

  • HND (or equivalent) in chemistry or related subject.
  • Minimum 2 years practical experience in a commercial lab.
  • Strong ability and desire to undertake training in food and agricultural analytical methods.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in reports.
  • Experienced in laboratory instrumentation techniques of analysis, e.g., HPLC, GC, ICP, UV-vis, q-PCR, ELISA (allergens).
  • Familiarity with Titrimetry, Gravimetry & wet chemistry.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and LIMS systems.
