We are excited to announce an opening for a Facilities Assistant at a renowned and respected high school located in the heart of Cardiff. Our school is celebrated for its caring and inclusive community, where well-being and support are as highly valued as academic excellence.

As a Facilities Assistant, you will become part of a close-knit team that thrives on mutual support and collaboration. This role is ideal for someone with a proactive and energetic attitude. With no two days being the same, you will enjoy the autonomy to manage your schedule while remaining adaptable to the diverse demands of the position.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Secure school buildings and set intruder alarms.
• Support cleaning staff by moving stock and unblocking toilets.
• Conduct minor maintenance tasks as required.
• Manage waste removal, including general and recycled waste to the main bin area.
• Deliver goods received to staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the site, including litter picking, emptying bins, and keeping drains clear of litter and leaves.
• Replenish consumables such as toilet rolls, soap, and towels in staff and pupil washrooms.
• Escort contractors across the site as necessary.

Working Hours:

• Monday: Noon to 7:30 PM
• Tuesday: Noon to 8:30 PM
• Wednesday: Noon to 7:30 PM
• Thursday: Noon to 9:00 PM
• Friday: Noon to 7:00 PM
• Note: Hours are generally as shown but may vary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in facilities management or a similar role is preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Physical fitness to perform manual tasks.
