Job description

We are currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Financial Services Unit. This role is a great chance for you to expand your skills and experience in the finance field.

The Opportunity

Salary: £25,584 to £25,992 per annum

Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week

Location: County Hall, Chichester and working from home (Hybrid working)

The Financial Services unit supports the County Council and all services in order to help make the best use of available resources and deliver County Strategy objectives and effective services.

In this role, you will provide reliable, efficient and effective flexible support to a team (or across teams) of a high-level administrative nature relating to the delivery of a specialist financial service. You will provide administrative support to a team, handling client queries, maintaining records, and assisting with day-to-day financial processing.

What are we looking for?

  • You will be comfortable working on routine financial processing and related administrative tasks.
  • You will have experience working in a customer focussed role, with relevant finance experience and the ability to explain basic financial information.
  • You will be dealing with members of the public on the telephone, and will need to demonstrate excellent customer care and communication skills when responding to potentially sensitive financial queries from elderly, frail or disabled individuals, or from those who may be upset or angry.
  • You will also need to be able to work on your own initiative, organising your work appropriately and responding to changing priorities to meet agreed deadlines.
