SF Group are excited to be working with a business based in Birmingham on their search for a Finance Manager.

Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Birmingham

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

– Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, including responsibility for a small transactional finance team (accounts payable, receivable, and payroll).
– Report directly to the owners, providing financial insights and analysis to support key business decisions.
– Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
– Oversee cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
– Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
– Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
– Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and suppliers, to ensure smooth financial operations.
– Support business growth by identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies.

The Successful Applicant:

– Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
– Proven experience in a similar finance management role, ideally within an SME or owner-managed business.
– Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to interpret financial data.
– Confident in working directly with business owners, providing clear financial guidance and recommendations.
– A proactive and hands-on approach, with a passion for continuous improvement.
– Experience working with financial systems, experience using Zero is highly preferable-and a good level of IT proficiency (e.g., Excel).

What’s on Offer?
– Salary £55,000 – £65,000 per annum
