Technical Sales Engineer

GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a successful Engineering company located in Worcestershire. Our client supplies test systems ranging from new control and data acquisition systems & products for existing test cells, through to turnkey test cell projects, complete with dynamometer, engine / test piece conditioning systems, test cell ventilation and services systems.

We are currently supporting their recruitment for a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent contract.

This vacancy is working Monday – Friday and the successful candidate can expect a salary circa £40K.

The ideal candidate will be qualified to a minimum of HNC / HND in an engineering discipline with more than 5 years’ experience in an engineering related industry. An automotive background would be an advantage but not essential.

Technical Sales Engineer main duties:

• Reporting to the Head of Sales & Applications, the role will require the development of fully costed quotations and technical proposals and the ability to develop both commercial and technical relationships with new and existing clients.
• Included in the role is the identification of new clients and the generation of new leads and opportunities.
• Innovative bespoke solutions are the key to success as a bespoke solutions provider, this is not a catalogue sales role.
• You will be capable individual that is self-motivated with technical sales experience and looking to advance their career.

Technical Sales Engineer required skills and experience:

• Experience of costing bespoke custom designed products using in-house sources and external suppliers / sub-contractors.
• Experience of estimating multi discipline in-house and site-based projects. This can include fields such as:
• Mechanical and electrical installations
• Building services
• Ventilation
• Services pipework
• Civil engineering
• Fire and gas detection / suppression
• Liaison with other departments, suppliers and sub-contractor to identify technically compliant and cost-effective solutions.
• Compile and periodically update costs for standard products.
• Update and, where necessary, create the library of technical data sheets for standard products, accessories, services and support data.
• Presentation and Communication skills are essential to success in this role.
